Here are nine simple steps to building a new home:

  2. Meet with Builders
    Arrange for an appointment with a reputable custom builder. Discuss possible floor plans and lot considerations to meet your needs.
  3. Locate Property
    Work with area Realtors or property owners to find a lot. Evaluate locations based on your lifestyle and personal preferences.
  4. Select Your Home
    Now that you have the information from the first three steps, you are ready to choose your floor plan and specify interior and exterior finishes.
  5. Order Blue Prints
    The prints are a working set of drawings needed for a detailed quote. They are also used for the actual construction of your home.
  6. Request Quote
    A quote is a detailed price based on your blue print and specifications. This will be the basis for your financing and construction contract.
  7. Secure Financing
    Meet with your lending institution to complete financing arrangements. Your pre-approval will greatly assist you in this process.
  8. Sign Contract
    Contact your builder to sign the contract. The contract will spell out the details of the process to ensure everyone is properly informed.
